Introduction

In this chapter we focus on those from the area who served and in some cases died in this horrendous conflict. Biographies have been created for all those who served and every effort has been made to ensure that the information published is correct. This will be an ‘on-going’ list, so please check back regularly to view new additions and please contact the group if you think we have missed out anyone or made mistakes. Recruitment within the district has also been completed and work will begin on the chapters on Those Who Returned and News from the Front.
